We want you to know how we handle your submission and what to expect next. First, we review your inquiries to see if we want to take your case against the repossession company and/or car lender. If your have a "good case," we can bring the case, get you money, and get paid ourselves by the wrongdoers. Whether we consider a case a "good case" depends on a few things. The most important factor is whether there was a breach of peace.  When there is a breach of peace, damages can be substantial, especially if the car loan was one with high interest.  However, other factors matter such as whether their was an unauthorized entry onto the consumer's property and whether the consumer was up-to-date on the loan or the car lender agreed to take payments and not to repossess. Another factor is how busy we are. When we are very busy, a case needs to be better than average for us to take it on.  We have a limited ability to take on cases. So, three key questions remain:

What happens next? You submit the form and wait. We usually can see pretty quickly if we want to take the case, but we might have follow up questions that we will send you via email before deciding. If we can't take your case, we'll send you a form email letting you know.

What to do if we decide we can't take your case? You can try another lawyer. However, there are very few lawyers that handle repossession cases. You might try www.naca.net, which is a national organization of consumer lawyers. If this doesn't work out, and you just want general advice on your problem--what to do next, how to negotiate with your car lender etc.--you can retain us on a limited basis to help you. We give consumers a reduced rate of $100 for 45 minutes to an hour to get their questions answered.  This is usually all that they need. Sorry, but we cannot do this for free. You can email us here if you want this.

What to do if we decide we want to take your case? We will ask your to sign a retainer agreement stating that we will get our fees from the repossessor and not from you. We will then begin working with you to gather the facts and file the complaint.
